Las Brisas is seeking a full‑time Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. We are a long‑standing, family‑owned restaurant known for authentic Mexican food, consistency, and heartfelt service. If you have experience, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow, we’d love to welcome you into our kitchen family. Must be available to work Tuesday to Sunday 3pm to close. Starting pay $18-19 with the opportunity for an increase in pay after 90-day evaluation if all requirements are met.
About the Role:
As a full‑time Assistant Cook, you will support our Chef/Founder in preparing high‑quality dishes, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who wants stability, long‑term growth, and hands‑on experience in a traditional Mexican kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to recipes and Chef instructions.
- Maintain clean, organized workstations, refrigerators, and storerooms.
- Assist with timely preparation of customer orders.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support daily kitchen operations and help wherever needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Chef.
Requirements:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or Spanish‑speaking) to communicate with Chef/Founder.
- Honest, responsible, dependable, and punctual.
- Valid Food Handler Certification.
- Knowledge of Mexican food; culinary skills a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
- Strong communication skills.
