The Original Las Brisas Restaurant is a long-standing, family-owned restaurant known for authentic Mexican food, consistency, and warm service. We are looking for a dependable Assistant Cook to support our kitchen team and work alongside our Chef/Founder.
This is a great opportunity for someone with commercial kitchen experience who takes pride in their work and wants to grow with a well-established local restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and food items according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Assist with daily food preparation and customer orders.
- Keep workstations, refrigerators, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen throughout the shift.
- Work closely with the Chef and other kitchen team members.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Mexican cuisine is a plus.
- Able to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred to communicate with the Chef/Founder.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as needed.
- Food Handler Card required as applicable; candidates without one may obtain it after hire.
Schedule & Pay:
- Tuesday through Sunday.
- Shifts begin at approximately 3 PM or 5 PM and continue until closing.
- $18-$21 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
- Opportunity for a pay increase following a 90-day performance evaluation.
